CHECK24 Vergleichsportal Karten & Konten GmbH brokers fixed-term deposits ("Festgeld") at European partner banks and keeps a record, in a client portal, of the deposits clients have opened with those banks. CHECK24 Vergleichsportal Karten & Konten GmbH is not a bank, does not receive client money and does not hold client money. The deposit contract is concluded solely between the client and the respective partner bank, and deposit protection follows that bank's own guarantee scheme.

  • Competent supervisory / licensing authority: Erlaubnis nach § 34c GewO, erteilt durch die Landeshauptstadt München, Kreisverwaltungsreferat, Ruppertstraße 19, 80466 München
  • permission as a financial investment broker under section 34 f of the German Trade Regulation Act (GewO), granted by the competent Chamber of Industry and Commerce or trade office, with entry in the brokers' register under section 11 a (1) GewO, searchable at www.vermittlerregister.info;
  • permission under section 34 c GewO (brokering loan agreements), granted by the competent trade authority;
  • status as a tied agent under section 3 (2) of the German Securities Institutions Act (WpIG), acting on behalf of and under the liability of a licensed institution, with entry in the public register of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin);
  • or an own BaFin licence under the German Banking Act (KWG) or the WpIG.
